Written and directed by Chell Stephen, Crystal stars Kate Stephen as the title character. The narrative short follows Crystal, a 17-year-old small town girl—with a language as colorful as her hot pink sports bra and shiny spandex shorts—in pursuit of making it big. Not even the music-video-esque daydreams suffice for the pop star life Crystal hopes to dance herself into. She will stop at nothing—including picking up rides with strangers and flipping the bird to anyone who stands in her way—to get out of her little home in Ontario.

The film debuted at SXSW in 2014 and has gained recognition at a handful of outlets since. Crystal was an Official Selection of Citizen Jane Film Festival, Bluestocking Film Series, Toronto International Film Festival, and the 2014 Atlanta Film Festival, among others.
