We are excited and honored to announce that Cablefax Magazine has awarded the Film Festival Collective presented by Xfinity the 2015 MSO Content Innovation Award! Cablefax reviews different cable providers and hundreds of programs for their annual top operators awards. The Comcast Video On Demand series was recognized for it's distinctive programming and outreach to local independent filmmakers. Comcast and the Film Festival Collective will be featured along with the other winners in Cablefax's Top Operators issue.
The Film Festival Collective showcases short films from nine different festivals reaching an estimated 9 million users across 13 states on the eastern half of the U.S. The channel is free to Xfinity customers within these regions. In 2014, the Collective was launched out of Georgia. The Atlanta Film Festival works with Comcast to help curate their own official selections, as well as content from their partner festivals: Charleston International Film Festival, Homespun Series, Indie Grits Film Festival, Indie Memphis Film Festival, Knoxville Film Festival, Macon Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival and Out On Film. Over 125 short films have been featured on the Film Festival Collective from these local and international festivals, with more films being posted every month.
